Unfortunately, neither the Vanderburgh County Commissioners nor the Vanderburgh County Council will have an opportunity to vote on the City of Evansville’s proposal to hike sewer rates in the City and the County. It is not right that those who reside in the County have no voting input on this extremely important decision to raise our sewer rates.
Although there may be a need by the City of Evansville to spend additional funds to make improvements in the City sewer system, there must be a better way to allocate the costs associated with such improvements.
As your next Vanderburgh County Commissioner, you can be sure that I will not sit back and let the City of Evansville hike our sewer rates like it is attempting to do in this instance.
